Perfect Vision Women’s Childcare project allows volunteers to assist at kindergartens and early childhood centers in low-income areas. These centers provide essential support to families, helping them while they work. Volunteers gain valuable experience while aiding underfunded and under-resourced centers to deliver quality childcare.
Childcare centers and kindergartens in Arusha’s low-income areas are lively and essential for many working families. As a volunteer, you will help ease the workload of local staff and improve the quality of care for preschoolers. Your support includes:

This diverse program involves working in kindergartens, early childhood centers, and schools in low-income areas around Arusha. Volunteers will assist local staff in providing basic education and childcare, supporting tasks like teaching, playing games, organizing activities, and helping with feeding and mealtimes.
Each day brings new experiences, including leading classes, assisting teachers, and working with children to develop their life skills. Volunteers are encouraged to bring along educational materials and supplies to enhance the learning experience for the children.
The program is based in Arusha, a small city near the Serengeti and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Despite its attractions, many Tanzanian communities lack necessities. Volunteer projects help improve access to healthcare, education, and childcare in rural and urban areas around Arusha.
Orientation begins on the 1st and 15th of every month.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) the day before orientation. Airport pick-up is included in your fee. Orientation covers essential information about Tanzania, including customs, language lessons, safety, travel opportunities, and project details.
Escorted to the project and introduced to the staff.
07:30 AM: Breakfast
08:00 AM: Travel to placements
1:00 PM: Work ends, free time for shopping or sightseeing
6:30 – 7:30 PM: Dinner
Explore Tanzania’s wildlife, markets, Mt. Meru, Maasai, and Meru tribes, or take a short flight to Zanzibar for beaches. Save time to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Volunteers stay in dorm-style houses or homestays in Sakina, Arusha, with basic living conditions, running water, and electricity. Meals are provided, and a SIM card for local data is recommended. Additional accommodation can be arranged for $35 per night.
Enjoy three meals a day featuring Tanzanian cuisine influenced by Indian flavors. Meals include rice, ugali, chapatti, beans, and fresh fruit. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with prior notice.

A Registration Fee of $329 and a 5% international banking fee apply. Independent volunteers under 18 have an additional $80 per week for extra logistical support.
